The GlassSmith Ltd is a family run business offering a full range of glass and glazing services from straightforward window repair to bespoke glass installations. Based in St. Albans, we cover Hertfordshire and the surrounding area and also travel across the country for commercial glass projects.
With over fifteen years' experience in the glass industry, our fully trained glaziers provide a professional fitting service and can advise on current safety requirements and glass standards to meet building regulations. We are also FENSA registered uPVC installers. Both domestic and trade customers are welcome.

Our Services
In addition to splashbacks for kitchens and bathrooms (also known as back-painted glass or glass cladding), shower screens, mirrors, Juliet balconies & balustrades, we offer a wide variety of other products and services.
These range from window repairs, whether a replacement double glazed unit, repairing a broken pane in a sash window, or fixing broken window handles and hinges, through to fitting cat flaps, installing glass partitions or cutting custom shaped mirrors.
We work with a number of different types of glass, such as toughened or laminated safety glass (e.g. for glass shelves and tabletops), patterned privacy glass (such as Pilkington) and frosted or sand-blasted glass (commonly found in bathroom windows).

Glass Stair Balustrade - before and after pictures

Another recently installed glass staircase. The original spindles in these traditional wooden stairs were replaced with glass panels and stainless steel clamps. The effect is light, airy and contemporary and really transforms the hallway.Read more »
